Casa Blanca Salon and Spa hosts fundraising event featuring personal appearance by Napoleon Perdis

Casa Blanca Salon and Spa located at 16081 San Dieguito Road in Rancho Santa Fe, will host a fundraising event to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital featuring a personal appearance by celebrity make up artist Napoleon Perdis, on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Perdis is Australia’s leading make up artist, judge on “Australia’s Next Top Model” (Fox 8) and was selected as the Official Makeup Partner of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 59 th Primetime Emmys.

The event will include a Master Make-Over Demonstration, Individual Guest Make-Over’s by Top Artists from the Hollywood NP Academy with expert advice and color analysis by Perdis, and participation in the Meet and Greet. Tickets for the Demonstration are $25 and Individual Guest Make-Over tickets are $75 (Make-Over’s are valued at $350, with the balance of the cost underwritten by Casa Blanca). All ticket sales, Silent Auction proceeds and Opportunity Drawing ticket sales will be donated to the Cancer Care Center, as will 20 percent of all cosmetic and boutique item net sales.

The Cancer Care Center at Rady’s provides cancer diagnosis and treatment to thousands of children annually and is the county’s only facility for pediatric bone marrow transplants. Las year, there were 12,601 visits to the center and more than half were for chemotherapy and other infusion treatments. According to Marcina Checketts, owner of Casa Blanca, “I was shocked to learn that 1 in 330 children will have the disease by age 20 and that cancers in very young children are highly aggressive and behave unlike malignant diseases at other times in life. 80% of children have metastasized cancer at the time of their diagnosis, unlike most adult cancers. In comparison, only 20 percent of adults with cancer show evidence that the disease has spread or metastasized. Those are compelling statistics and led ut to the decision to select the Cancer Care Center at Rady’s as the beneficiary of proceeds from this event.”

The event will include refreshments, live entertainment and a cosmetic gift for all participants.
